ZAKAT
Allah in his holy book,Quran,has laid great emphasis on charity.A number of words have been used to signify charity ,e.g. Infaq which means spending benevolently ,ihsan which means spending doing good,Sadaqah which signifies truth but in Islam it implies a charitable deed,and lastly,Zakat which means growth and purification and is another shape of Charity with forms of difference that it is obligatory while the rest of the forms of Charity just mentioned are voluntary.
